The Hub can run off of the building's power and has a backup battery life of 15 hours in case of an outage. Ajax devices have incredible reliability and the battery life is from 3 to 7 years for most devices. Let's break down how the items in the kit could be installed in a three-bedroom home:

1. Hub 2 Plus is connected to power and internet at a central location in the home. The Hub's range to most devices is around 6,500 ft line of sight, which is more than sufficient for most homes.
2. MotionCam can be installed anywhere where you want to detect motion during an intrusion. For example, one facing the front entrance, and the other facing the back entrance.
3. DoorProtect sensor is installed at the garage door entrance
4. Outdoor Motion Cam is installed at the end of the porch or patio facing out into the yard to detect intruders before they reach the patio.
   
5. HomeSiren is placed inside the home on the first floor.
6. StreetSiren is placed outdoors on the house or other post in the back yard
7. In the Ajax app, all scenarios are set up to tell the sirens when to alert of an intrusion. Typically this is when the system is Armed or in Night Mode.
